2008 Race Procedures

  1. All eliminators entered will be given a maximum of two (2) time trial sessions or qualifying runs.  Late arrivals are only guaranteed one (1) time trial before eliminations begin, if time permits.
  2. Time trials will be run by eliminator, out of their designated lanes.
  3. Pairing for eliminations may be determined using the card system, first card number goes to the left lane and second card number goes to the right lane.
  4. Bye runs will be drawn at random until sixteen (16) or eight (8) cars or less. At sixteen (16) or eight (8) cars or less, drivers will be laddered by closest to dial-in (not running under).  No racer shall receive two bye runs unless all other remaining racers have had a bye run.  Competition singles (paired opponent cannot make the call) do not count as a bye run.
  5. Courtesy staging is in effect during all points races except for Jr. Dragsters. If a car stages before both cars have pre-staged, the car will be backed out of the lights (one time only) and both cars will then re-stage.
  6. No deep staging is allowed, except for Jr. Dragsters.
  7. Jr. Dragster crew members will fire the car up when the two (2) cars before them have pre-staged.  A maximum of 3 “push-backs” and 1 engine restart will be allowed prior to staging.  Once the dragster has lit the pre-stage bulb, no crewmember will be allowed to touch the vehicle, other than to turn on a data switch.
  8. No driver may change vehicles once eliminations have begun.
  9. A driver may change vehicles before eliminations have begun, as long as the vehicle is not entered in the same event.
  10. All dial-ins must be visible after crossing the yellow line in front of the staging lanes and cannot be changed after that.  Jr. Dragster drivers may not change their dial-in after the first pair of Jr.’s has staged.
  11. Reaction times and intermediate times are given as a courtesy to the driver and no races will be re-run over disputed times.
  12. It is the sole responsibility of the driver to check his or her dial-in before staging. Once both cars have staged, it is a race.
  13. Midnight Madness racing is for cars with DOT tires and Motorcycles only.  Race cars are not allowed to participate in these “street racing” events.  Mufflers are required for any runs after midnight!
  14. RAINOUTS: Our schedule calls for 7 Q-16 events in each of the split seasons.  Rainouts may be rescheduled, if there is an available open date.  In the event that we are unable to complete 5 of the 7 events, we will use races of the next split counting for points in both of the seasons.
  15. LICENSE RUNS: We have always supported our license applicants by offering drivers unlimited access to the track, and we will continue to do so on every Wednesday.  However, on race days, they will have to adjust.  On Friday night races, we will offer the applicants the opportunity to make unlimited runs during the qualifying times.  Once we start eliminations, license runs will not be allowed until AFTER 3RD ROUND. On Saturdays, we will allow license passes beginning at 9:00a.m., between the Jr. Dragster sessions, and continuing until we begin the 1st round of eliminations.  Additional license runs will be allowed with other time trial runs AFTER 3rd ROUND.
  16. TIME TRIALS ONLY & EXHIBITION RUNS: Some drivers attend our Saturday events in an effort to make only time trial or exhibition runs.  We understand that not all drivers and/or cars attend our Saturday events to compete.  However, Saturday is our RACE DAY.  Time trial only drivers will be allowed the opportunity to make 2 passes with the category that their car would normally race.  Once eliminations begin, there will be no further test passes until AFTER 3rd ROUND, and only if we are not running behind schedule.  We offer 4-hours of time trials every Wednesday and we urge all drivers to use those days for their testing.  The track is “prepped” the same every time we open the main gates.  We understand that the “bite” is better on Saturdays because of all of the big-tire cars running, but Saturday is RACE DAY… Wednesday is Test-N-Tune day!
