FRIDAY NIGHT RACING
WE ARE RETURNING TO TROPHY RACING ON
FRIDAY NIGHTS FOR ALL OF OUR CLASSES AND ARE REDUCING OUR GATE FEE TO ONLY $15,
WHICH IS THE SAME AS OUR WEDNESDAY TEST-N-TUNE RACER FEE.
Beginning January 5, 2007 we will host a new format for our Friday night races.
We will have a “Trophy” class for Motorcycle, Street, Super Pro, & No
Electronics. Gate fee for all Car/Driver is $15.00. Winner trophies will be
awarded in all classes, runner-up trophies if class entries exceed 8 racers in
the 1st round.
We will also allow any racer to enter in an ALL RUN grudge race. We will begin
by pairing Super-Pro against Super Pro, No Electronics and Street racers will
run together, and Motorcycles will run each other. Random pairings will continue
in the respective categories until only one car/bike is left remaining in a
category. After we are down to one, that racer will be paired with the remaining
cars and/or motorcycles. Drivers will be paired at 8-cars or less, and possibly
at 16 cars or less, if we are down to only one car/bike in a class. CROSS-TALK
WILL NOT BE USED DURING THE GRUDGE RACE.
All racers wishing to enter the Grudge Race will bring $20.00 to the lanes when
we put out the call for the Grudge Race. All racers will compete in a single
race, and it may end up with a motorcycle and a super-pro car in the finals.
Lane assignments for the grudge race will be Street cars and No Electronics cars
to lanes 3 & 4; Super Pro cars to lanes 5 & 6; and Motorcycles to Lane
7.
There will be no “buy-backs” in the grudge race, but we will run 1st round
of the grudge race before we begin 1st round of the trophy races. 1st round
losers can still use their tech card to enter the trophy races in their
respective categories.
There will be a 100% payback of all monies put up by the grudge racers.
Payouts will be to the Winner, Runner-Up, & Semi’s as follows:
4 CARS IN SEMI’S ….. WINNER 50% , RUNNER-UP 30% , SEMI-FINALIST 10% each
3 CARS IN SEMI’S ….. WINNER 60% , RUNNER-UP 30% , SEMI-FINALIST 10%
EXAMPLE: 40 racers enter the 1st round of the grudge race = $800.00 collected
20 racers return for 2nd round - 20 1st round losers enter the trophy race
10 racers return for 3rd round
5 racers return for 4th round
3 racers return for 5th round - 5th round loser gets 10% = $ 80.00
2 racers return for final round
Runner-up gets 30% = $240.00
Winner gets 60% = $480.00
Total Payout 100% = $800.00
EXAMPLE: 80 racers enter the 1st round of the grudge race = $1,600.00 collected
40 racers return for 2nd round - 40 1st round losers enter the trophy race
20 racers return for 3rd round
10 racers return for 4th round
5 racers return for 5th round
3 racers return for 6th round - 6th round loser gets 10% = $160.00
2 racers return for final round
Runner-up gets 30% = $480.00
Winner gets 60% = $960.00
Total Payout 100% = 1600.00
Several racers have requested that the track keep $50 from the money put up by
the grudge racers to provide a winner and runner-up trophy for the grudge race,
which is no problem. By allowing all classes of racers to compete in the grudge
race, a street racer or a motorcycle racer has an equal opportunity to compete
for a nice payout.
While some may feel that a super-pro racer has an advantage over a
non-electronics driver, let me remind you that the King of the Track has been a
street or No-E guy for the last 3 years.
Your thoughts and comments are welcome, but we would appreciate it if everyone
gives this new format a chance to work. We want our Friday nights to be open to
all racers, and we feel that this format will give all racers a place to compete
on Friday nights.
